Hardy orchids for sale

These terrestrial orchids are hardy perennials, that can be grown in a gardens and are recommended for beginners, Cypripedium seedlings require higher attention. For hardy orchids frost is a benefit. These ground orchids need cold winter (are able to stand temperatures lower than –20 degree of Celsius). The plants can be easily vegetative propagated.


The plants are usualy transported via mail post service as the root tubers (Dactylorhiza) or as the rhizomes (Cypripediums) or as the plants in pots. The favourite time for planting is either autumn or spring prior to dormancy break.


After delivering a rhizomes or a bare roots the plants should be planted soon. Before planting it is possible to store the plants in damp moss or even better in damp pumice, vermiculite or perlite in fridge for several weeks.
